It was 8:00 on Saturday, July 12th. The sky was a brilliant blue and the lake was a limpid pool, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Craigmeur Ski Club boats with members and friends on water-skis and wakeboards. Like last year, Handsome Glenn ordered the perfect weather, as he and Debi opened their beautiful home, yard and dock to scores of friends eager to partake in what has been called “The best day ever” by their biggest fan.

Whether tubing, up on two skis, slalom or wakeboard, the rush of the wind and the pendulous traversing of the wake was exhilarating. And the thrill of speeding on tube behind a boat, never knowing if you’ll be flipped off or stay on was quite a rush for kids, teenagers and even some adults.

The day was enjoyed by members and friends of all ages, with waterskiing and wakeboarding all morning, tubing for most of the day, an ongoing barbeque feast in the afternoon, sunbathing on the grass, swimming and diving in the lake, and animated conversations among friends scattered all over the beautifully manicured green carpet of grass that is the back lawn along the lakefront.

Our first “thank-you” goes to Glenn and Debi, who hosted the event with the warmth and generosity that always come so naturally to both of them. We would also like to thank everyone who brought their boats to give us the experience of a lifetime (although thankfully now it has become an annual event, yeah!): Glenn, Chuck, Pat, Fred, Brian, and anyone who may have missed that brought a boat. We thank you for your patience in teaching those who had never skied or wake boarded before to get up and enjoy the rush. Thank you Glenn and Debi for the bagel breakfast and barbeque food, and members and friends for the delicious side dishes and desserts.

It was truly the best day ever (again!!) — Cheryl Biron

One Response to “2008 Waterskiing Party – Splashtacular!”

[...] I am happy to present a reworked video from Glenn’s party. Unfortunately due to technical problems I was forced to cut important scenes in the previous video. As of tonight I have overcome those issues. [...]
