Windham Ski Club Card is available at Group Sales. You would pay $20 for the membership and then you would receive a free lift ticket (Non-Transferable) good anytime. Before you receive the card you would have to get a picture taken and would have to attach a credit card in order to receive the discounts. The discounts are $46 weekends/holidays and $36 midweek non-holiday.

OK, NJSC is heavily promoting the Jamboree, October 30, 2009 at The Hanover Marriott. The event is always great fun with a silent auction, a Chinese auction, resort info about the up-coming season and lots of give-aways ! As always, copies of the NJSC 2009-2010 Guidebook will be available at the Jamboree and I will also have copies after the November NJSC meeting to distribute at Craigmeur’s regular meetings.

If you can volunteer one hour of time to assist NJSC staff at the Jamboree, please see Chris Budd at any regular club meeting. All help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome Back – the first NJSC monthly meeting of 2009-2010 season was held September 14, 2009. I have received a proof for the NJSC guidebook listing for Craigmeur Ski Club and will give the necessary approval to publish. Guidebook publication will be completed in October and you can get your NJSC Guidebook copy at the NJSC Jamboree, October 30, 2009 at The Hanover Marriott.  I will also have copies of the guidebook after the November NJSC meeting.

The 2008-2009 season final NJSC meeting was held Monday May 11, 2009. 

NJSC Elections were held and the NJSC executive Board incumbents were re-elected with the exception of the Treasurer position, which remains vacant.  Should anyone be interested in volunteering to run for the position of NJSC Treasurer, please contact Chris Budd and you will be put in contact with the proper NJSC members for additional information.

A second opportunity exists with NJSC : Membership Priviledges Chairman – this person runs the NJSC voucher program. An organized and energentic individual is required to fulfill this position.  Please contact Chris Budd and you will be put in contact with the proper NJSC members for additional information.

Be advised Craigmeur surrendered returned member vouchers as required.  Craigmeur exceeded the allowed Sugarbush allotment by seven (7) vouchers.  At this time it is not known what impact this will have on 2009-2010 season Sugarbush up-grades.  As more information is received, membership will be notified.

Please take advantage of the “Kids Ski Free” programs for 2009-2010 offered by several states around the country.  A flyer will be available in future announcements  providing information on enrollment requirements.

Thanks go out to those Craigmenur members who accepted the role of NJSC Rep apprenticeship during the 2008-2009 season.  Their help and commeraderie was greatly appreciated.

Anyone interested in running? I would like to extend the invitation to all members and anyone interested in the following event: Black Bear Fitness is sponsoring a 5K at Lake Shawnee. All proceeds will benefit the Jefferson Township School System. The 5K will be on June 28, 2009 starting at the Lake Shawnee Club House promptly at 9:30AM.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 25, 2009, 10:00 AM.

This bike ride will start at 10:00 AM sharp, at the Kingwood Boat Launch just one mile south of Frenchtown on Route 29. Rain or Shine!

Here are some important highlights of this bike ride:

• This bike ride will be on flat ground on a defunct rail road that is now a trail (rails to trail).
• We will be riding on the historic Delaware & Raritan trail.
• The scenery will be awesome. Along the way we will be able to view the serenity of the Delaware River and canals that are parallel with the trail. We also stop along the way to rest and view interesting sites like the Prallsville Mills.
• An interesting bit of history – George Washington crossed the Delaware River just south of where we will be.
• Our destination will be Lambertville for the annual “Shad Festival,” which starts at 12:30pm.  The festival features the area’s finest artists and crafters, great food, and family entertainment.  Please click here to learn more about the Shad Festival.

This bike ride will be on flat ground on a defunct rail road that is now a trail (rails to trail).  Motorized vehicles are not  allowed to use the trail and there are only a few places where cars cross the trail. The ride is a comfortable 24 mile round trip and is suitable for intermediate to advanced riders.  It is also a moderate tune up bike ride if you are planning on participating in the  NY Five Boro Bike Ride. I recommend mountain bikes or hybrid bikes for this ride since the trail is composed of hard packed dirt. There will be plenty of food at the festival. Be sure to bring an ample amount of cash.

Please bring the usual necessities for the bike ride e.g., water, rain gear, sun blocker, bike lock, and a good sense of humor.

After you get to the Cycle Corner bike shop and assuming you are passing it on the left, make an immediate left on Route 29 South. From there travel about one mile and lo0k for the Kingwood Boat Launch parking area on the right side. The trail itself is conveniently next to the parking lot.

NJSC membership stickers for the 2008-2009 season will be placed on the back of your Craigmeur membership card when you renew your dues. Show this sticker to retailers / resorts / restuarants in ski country or anywhere else you patronize to let them know you are a member of NJSC and would like to enjoy any discounts they offer to NJSC members.

An exclusive offer from Killington for the Club Card will be available to NJSC members.  Available directly from Killington via a hidden link at www.killington.com\clubcard or by phoning 800-887-3257.  You must belong to a NJSC memberclub, have a club membership card w/ NJSC sticker & photo ID to collect & use this card.  One card is required for EACH member of your family.  Card is NOT interchangable, meaning someone else CANNOT use your card.  Cut-off date is December 17, 2008, card to be collected at the Snowshed Lodge.  No black out dates.
 

NJSC Discount Vouchers will be available thru Chris Budd at any Craigmeur meeting.  Sign ups will begin September 24 & payments will be taken upon sign up.  Sign-up cutoff / voucher delivery dates as follows:

cut-off 11/19/2008 – delivery December 10, 2008
cut-off 12/17/2008 – delivery January 14, 2009
cut-off 1/21/2009 – delivery February 11, 2009

A determination will be made in February 2009 whether vouchers will be available beyond the last delivery date.  Weather and participation will be determing factors.
