NJSSC 2018 trip info

Posted by skijcb on September 4th, 2017

Hello Craigmeur Ski Club –

Here it is September already, summer seems to have passed in the blink of an eye, kids are back in school, cooler temperatures & shorter days are upon us.

On Thursday 8/30 I saw weather report from Wildcat Mountain – 47 degrees for a high with possibility of flurries. The autumnal equinox is not far off – 22 September 2017 –  then on the Winter Solstice 21 December 2017

It’s time to get out your alpine / nordic / winter sports gear and determine what needs to be repaired or replaced and what remains useful for another season. Did someone say Craigmeur Ski Club member’s garage sale ?

I am pleased to annouce Patrick Brennan has volunteered to take over as Craigmeur’s NJSSC representative for 2017-2018 season.  Patrick will be attending the monthly NJSSC meetings and handling the ski voucher program.  Patrick has requested anyone interested in learning more about NJSSC or helping out to please contact him at any regular club meeting.  I will also be available to provide NJSSC information to interested club members.  Welcome aboard Patrick !

Below is travel date information for three (3) NJSSC 2018 winter trips. For more detailed info, please down-load the flyers and contact the NJSSC rep listed:

Jay Peak Resort, Vermont – Sunday 28 January 2018 through Friday 02 February 2018 – 2018 Jay Peak     2018 JAY PEAK RESERVATION FORM

NJSSC Voucher info – April 2017

Posted by skijcb on March 28th, 2017

Hi All –

I love Spring skiing – long sunlit days, soft snow, less layers.  Don’t let the weather here deter you from going to your favorite Northeast or Mountain West ski area, it’s still winter there.  Get out and make some turns.

This is my last season as the club’s NJSSC rep.  I have enjoyed providing a valuable service to the club’s members.  Craigmeur Ski Club needs a successor to step forward now so I can share “the tricks of the trade” with that person to ready them for September 2017 when NJSSC meetings begin for the 2017-2018 season.

As the season begins to wind down and club members clean out equipment bags and winter jacket pockets, inevitably valid vouchers are discovered.  Now is the time to bring these valid vouchers to any regular club meeting and sell or swap them with other Craigmeur Ski Club members.

DO NOT SELL VOUCHERS VIA CRAIGSLIST OR ANY OTHER ON-LINE OUTLET.  DO NOT SELL VOUCHERS AT OR NEAR RESORTS.

Club members caught selling NJSSC vouchers via this method will result in Craigmeur Ski Club being suspended from the NJSSC program.

If you do end up having vouchers to up-grade for next season, the NJSSC voucher surrender period for Craigmeur Ski Club begins on 12 April 2017 and ends on 03 May 2017.  NJSSC Vouchers are to be brought to any regular club meeting during that time frame and surrendered in person.  NJSSC Vouchers NOT received by 03 May will NOT be honored for an upgrade for next season.

VOUCHERS ISSUED BY ANY ENTITY OTHER THAN NJSSC ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR NJSSC UPGRADE.  Please mark your calendar and plan to attend a club meeting before the cut-off.

Winter remains strong in Vermont regardless of the spastic weather we are experiencing in New Jersey.  Don’t wait until the snow falls here, get up to the Lodge & get your runs in now.  It will be golf & cycling season much too soon.  Then who’s to blame for your rusty old skis ?
