Now some individuals  accomplishments; way to go Anneliese Yombor on taking 1st place for the women’s for the 6thstraight year not counting maternity leaves, Dawn Mazzanti taking 2ndbehind  Anneliese and Kimberly Hollister for cracking the top 10 and taking 9th, was it Kimberly’s ski rental’s for the day or  the 3 years of french fry turns, regardless she smoked some of the Men, counting yours truly. Chris Yombor as his 2nd place finish and missing 1st place by 2 seconds combine.

Also this past Saturday was the 3rdannual Jr. NJSC race @ Pico. We had 5 jr. racers mostly rookies who braved the icy course on B-slope after the adults finished their 1st GS run.

Some of the accomplished were, Meredith Hollister finishing  2ndin the girls class C division, in the boys class C division we had Jake Yombor taking 2ndand Russell Hollister taking 3rd. In the girls class B division we had Brianne Rachmiel taking 2ndplace and Aaron Rachmiel the only snowboarder finishing 4th in the boys class B division.

Overall I like thank all our the participates for showing up and support the Craigmeur race team, we had 4 Women & 9 Men race. Congrats to Eleanor Young on finishing her 1st race, congrats to Justin Stone with his first NJSC state race, to our fearless leader Larry, hopefully next year you’ll complete the course. SSMPR @ Hunter MT

This past Saturday March 21 was the 25th annual SSMPR at Hunter MT., the weather was sunny and & warm and a perfect day to race and ski with friends. The Craigmeur team was small but well represented with Mr. Snow East Magazine “Bill”, Larry, Mike, Jay, Kurt, Tracey and the rookie Amanda. Since the team was small we only placed 8th out of 10 teams. We had only one individual award and that was to Amanda who took 3rd in the under 12 class and was the hit of the race as everybody was cheering her on as she approached the finish line.

As the team did not clean up in the race awards but we did take home the grand prize in the drawing, as Tracey won a pair of twin tip skis. Congrats to Tracey and we’ll look forward to see you on the free style team next year.

Thanks to everybody who woke-up at the crack of dawn and made the 2hr plus ride to participate in the race and just have fun!

Well that concludes our 2009 race season, so enjoy the spring & summer and see in the fall for the 2010 race season.

Race Party

Posted by Mike Rachmiel on April 2nd, 2008

The End-of-Year Race Party will be The Main Street Exchange in Rockaway, NJ, the date will be Thursday, May 1, starting at 6:30 pm.  Since Pico did not charge us the per racer cost that I was quoted in the fall (which I included in the per racer charge), we have some extra money that we will use to subsidize the party.  This may not happen in the future.  The cost will be $15/person, if you make your reservation by April 22, if interest please e-mail me if you are attending.

The last race of the season was held at Hunter Mt. this past Saturday. It is hard to believe the season is over but all good things have to come to the end. Now we can move on to Bike Larry, Bike NY, Roy Yankees, Glen Jimmy Buffet, The Clam Bake and Don Pub crawl, just to mention a few upcoming events. We had 8 racers & 2 trainees get up early and drive the 2 hours for the annual SSMPR @ Hunter Mt. The weather was sunny and mid 30’s, the Mt conditions were very favorable for free skiing through the Mt. The race course was challenging as the rain from the beginning of the week make the hill some what icy between the gates.

Thanks to all!

2008 Club Race

Posted by Mike Rachmiel on March 19th, 2008

On Saturday March 8, 2008 we held our annually Craigmeur Club Race at Pico, VT. The weather was overcast with mix precipitation, lucky the heavy rain held off until the race was finished and everybody heading back to the lodge. This was a record turn out for the race, with 33 children & 24 adults all completing for the chance in winning a Craigmeur Gold Medal.

Some notes from the race, Chuck almost had his best run every, except a gate got in the way of his nose and cause a major crash. Congrats to Craig on finishing 2nd and being a gracious winner. Thanks to Roy for taking all the pictures.

The tailgate party was smartly decided in the morning to be held at the lodge by Tracey. The party as usually had more food & drinks then people, with plenty of hamburgers, dogs, wings, home salads and other snacks. The kids still had fun play games, tag, etc…, the adults were able to get a power nap and others just enjoyed a good conversation.

Thanks to Tracey for her fine efforts and making the event a success! Also I like to thank some of her assistants and cooks, Kurt, Bob, Oliver, Eric and Phil.

Thanks for everybody coming out and making the event so successfully.
