2012 Club Race

Posted by Mike Rachmiel on March 7th, 2012

On March 3 we had the 2012 club race at Bromley, VT. The day started out with sleet & rain, but we were able to move back the race start time to 12:00pm and the weather turned to Sun when the first racer hit the course. In all we had 55 racers who turned out for the event and everybody agreed that change of venue & skiing was excellent! We also had a visit from the big fellow, no not Santa (relaxing in Hawaii) but the one & only Rex Ryan Head coach of the Jets.

Once again we had the barbeque at lodge(pre-planned) and everybody enjoyed the burgers, dogs, wings, salads, sausage, beans and a course Craig’s beer choices. Special thanks to the setup crew of Bob, Frank & Christine and the many other helpers & cookers.

2011 Craigmeur Club Race @ Pico

Posted by Mike Rachmiel on March 8th, 2011

Well this past Saturday we had the annual Craigmeur ski club race @ Pico, Vt and we had a 61 racers. This year’s race was on ‘B” slope, which made the race more challenging then years past, but still a fun day. We had a threat of rain but the ski gods held the rain off until the race was completed by all. So thanks to all the racers for coming out and making the club race a big success.

The Barbecue was decide in the morning to be held at the lodge and let’s just say Oliver out did himself with burgers, dogs, chicken, pasta, ribs, pork loin, etc.. So a big thanks to Oliver!

SSMPR @ Hunter MT

Posted by Mike Rachmiel on March 24th, 2009

This past Saturday March 21 was the 25th annual SSMPR at Hunter MT., the weather was sunny and & warm and a perfect day to race and ski with friends. The Craigmeur team was small but well represented with Mr. Snow East Magazine “Bill”, Larry, Mike, Jay, Kurt, Tracey and the rookie Amanda. Since the team was small we only placed 8th out of 10 teams. We had only one individual award and that was to Amanda who took 3rd in the under 12 class and was the hit of the race as everybody was cheering her on as she approached the finish line.

As the team did not clean up in the race awards but we did take home the grand prize in the drawing, as Tracey won a pair of twin tip skis. Congrats to Tracey and we’ll look forward to see you on the free style team next year.

Thanks to everybody who woke-up at the crack of dawn and made the 2hr plus ride to participate in the race and just have fun!

Well that concludes our 2009 race season, so enjoy the spring & summer and see in the fall for the 2010 race season.

Race Party

Posted by Mike Rachmiel on April 2nd, 2008

The End-of-Year Race Party will be The Main Street Exchange in Rockaway, NJ, the date will be Thursday, May 1, starting at 6:30 pm.  Since Pico did not charge us the per racer cost that I was quoted in the fall (which I included in the per racer charge), we have some extra money that we will use to subsidize the party.  This may not happen in the future.  The cost will be $15/person, if you make your reservation by April 22, if interest please e-mail me if you are attending.
