In case you havn’t noticed, many of our Craigmeur Members are featured in the current January 2007 issue of SNOWEAST Magazine. Photos from the New Jersey Ski Council Jamboree were featured in a new column called “Smile Your’e in SNOWEAST” The photos of Glenn Desantis, Chris Budd and Emily Eastwick display their usual jovial personalities of the Craigmeur Family.

        The magazine which is the brain child of our own member Bill Jones is a hit with many skiers throughout the Northeast. There will be complimentary copies available at any one of our weekly meetings as well as at The Craigmeur Ski Lodge. You never know, when you may be in a future issue of SNOWEAST magazine.

A recent article in the The Star Ledger, Thursday, December 14, 2006, reported on the unusual warm weather causing a delayed ski season opening. Our very own Vice President, Roy Spierer, was interviewed for the article which appeared on the front page. Roy mentioned that he has been skiing for 34 years and had seen much better conditions when he first started hitting the snow. We are proud that our club was sought out for this special article recognizing the valued input of Craigmeur Ski Club.

The evening was an overwhelming fun night. We started with a delicious buffet and music provided by a new DJ.  After dinner we kicked off the grab bag gift event.  This year we didn’t do any gift “stealing” as we had done in past years so that we would have time for dancing later.  The annual gift-wrap your partner contest followed with Debbie Desantis and Joey Desantis as the first place winners. Afterwards we danced to the music and showed our best moves.  All in all it was another great holiday party with great food, fun, and friends.

Our very own member, Diane L. Bogert was the proud winner of an intensive sealed bid for a pre-owned Nordic Track in almost brand new condition. The Nordic track retails for approximately $800.00 and was won by Diane with a bid of $88.88. Curtis Griggs, a friend of member, Larry Ticotin, donated the machine to the club. The funds will be used for future events by the club.

The open house was a successful fun event. Friday and Saturday sent many of us out to the shopping outlets and the ski shops.We made up for the lack of snow with some intense partying and dancing to the music supplied by our DJ. We also had some spectacular board games during the evening. One table was playing a ski/snowboard game. Another table had four people playing Scrabble. The competition was tough and there were spectators galore. During the evening Glenn Desantis’s cell phone kept everyone up to date with the Rutgers gallant effort against West Virginia. Although we were disappointed with a lack of snow and skiing, we more than made up for it with the party at the lodge.
