High Bridge Bike Ride 2007 - Recap

Posted by Larry Ticotin, Webmaster on June 12th, 2007

“The turnout for the annual Rails-to-Trails bike ride was overwhelming. Numbers doubled from last year, over 40 members and guests participated in the 14+ mile ride and about 30 stayed to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in High Bridge. As promised during the meetings, the weather cooperated, 80s and sunny. Most stuck to the main trail, naturally there are some that if they see a nearby hill, rock, or old abandoned set of railroad tracks they feel the need to ride over those too! At the Califon Rail Station the group split, about half rode back on the same trail and those more adventurous rode back on a rocky dirt road that runs just beside the South Branch Raritan River. Those who remained for lunch at Circa were greeted with cold beer and good food, and of course, great company. Lots of photos and a video were taken to capture to day - check out the gallery. I look forward to seeing everybody (and more) next year!”
