Camping / River Trip 2012 – Another Success – Photo Gallery

23 Jul

Good Weather + Great Food + Perfect River conditions + Terrific Bands + Amazing People = 48 hours of fun! Over 90 members and friends camped, floated and partied. Nice change in logistics this year by busing upstream and floating back to the campsite – no waiting around after rafting to get back to the site.

In addition to having the band from last year come back and play – we had a second impromptu band. Combined they played for nearly 3 hours.

Looking forward to seeing all (plus more) back next year.

Camping/Canoeing/Rafting Trip 2012 – July 13-15

Well here we are, it’s April already and right around the corner from being knee deep in all those summer activities we all enjoy so much; biking, hiking, BBQ’s with friends, music and dancing, camping, rafting, or how about a bunch of these all together on a rocking weekend in New York on the Delaware river?

. . . . . and that it will be! Mark your calendars now for July 13, 14, and 15, 2012. We are working out the final details now for the 7th annual Craigmeur Ski club river trip. Every year is bigger and better, and this year will be sure to please!

We will be camping in Narrowsburg, NY again with Landers outfitters. All the sites will be bundled in the wooded area and the bon fire out in the field (although, I checked the calendar and we’re not due to have a full moon this year, sorry). A change for this year will be that we are going to take the buses in the morning and start out upriver at skinners falls so that we can finish at the campground and not have to wait for a shuttle bus at the end. Also since the “falls” are right there, those that want to play around a little can go tubing down through the rapids first. I’ve also heard rumors that there is a rope swing out into the river just north of the campground, but as of right now I have not been able to confirm it. There will be another great BBQ back at camp Saturday afternoon and Fly By Night, the band from last year was happy to sign back up again and plans to play longer, louder, harder, and rock the night for energetic dancing! And of course what camping trip would be complete without a “camp” fire, just make sure to bring a 10’ pole if you want to roast marshmallows on this bon-fire!

The sites are reserved for Friday through Sunday and will be available for extra days, for an extra fee,  for anyone that wants to arrive early or stay later, just let us know. We are working out the final cost with Landers now, but expect to be right around the same rates as last year. Also, as in years past, we’ll set up (Friday night) to get personal boats shuttled around Saturday morning. FYI, anyone that just wants to come up only for the day, should plan on being at the campground before 8am so we have time to get the waivers and final head count before the bus leaves.
