Ahhh.... the Farmers' Almanac has long claimed that a heavy drop of acorns predicts a harsh, snowy winter. While no scientific correlation has been identified concerning the heavy acorn drop, BTW still occurring in my yard, El Nino might still be a factor in upping this winters' precipitation amounts.

It's time to look at the calendar & begin thinking about which weekends and/or full weeks to organize getting your crew out on the slopes & where to make that happen.

Remember to attend regular club meetings, Wednesdays weekly beginning 8pm 07 October 2026 and running thru end of April 2027. Be sure to check this website calendar regularly for location changes, time changes or other events that may impact a meeting schedule date or time.

Consideration should also be given to ways to NEVER PAY RETAIL. First & foremost, use your club membership card with NJSSC membership card to ask about point of sale discounts EVERYWHERE you purchase winter related gear, clothing, lodging, meals, lift tickets - anything related to hitting the slopes.

Another great way to save cash is explore www.skivermont.com/deals - sign up for the newsletter. Families will appreciate Kid Deals, the Fifth Grade passport and Learn to Ski / Ride deals. For adults, options include Senior Deals, Military Deals, Learn to Ski / Ride deals and individual resort season passes. Ski VT also offers Cross Country Reciprocal Program, check it out !

Multi resort season passes have been on sale since Spring 2026 and if interested, you can prolly still purchase one from Ikonpass.com, epicpass.com, mountaincollective.com, indyskipass.com.

Have a great 2026 / 2027 winter season & THINK SNOW !
